Pediatrics Residency – Application Process

Applications are accepted through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP), through ERAS only. The application deadline is December 31st. No paper applications will be accepted.

Interviews are scheduled by invitation October 18 through January 17. The Department will arrange and pay for hotel accommodations the night before the interview.

The following materials should be submitted through ERAS:

  • Letter from Dean of Medical School
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation (preferably, one Chairman’s letter – but not required)
  • Medical School Transcript
  • CV and Personal Statement
  • Scores from the National Board of Medical Examiners (USMLE Step I & II)

Osteopathic students: We encourage you to apply to our program. Your application is enhanced by providing both COMLEX and USMLE scores. However, we will consider an application with COMLEX scores only, if the scores are highly competitive.

Requirements for international medical graduates:

  • One year of residency training in the US or Canadian medical system (applicants without this experience will be considered if letters of support can attest to the ability of work in the US hospital system)
  • Successful passage of USMLE Step I and Step II on the first attempt
  • Graduation from medical school within the last 2 years (applicants out of med school more than 2 years prior to application may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Eligible for ECFMG certification
  • Only J1 visas are sponsored by our hospital
