Training

Mt. Olive CAC and TEDI BEAR CAC partner to welcome you to learn more about Children’s Advocacy Centers, and about how to prevent and address child abuse. Please consider participating in one of our Stewards of Children training sessions on the prevention of child sexual abuse.

Also, please consider taking one or more interactive online courses offered by other organizations on child abuse and neglect, and about the crime of child trafficking. Most of these courses are free of charge, and many can be used by professionals and foster parents for continuing education credit.

Stewards of Children Training

The CAC offers free Stewards of Children training to all interested adults who want to know how to prevent, recognize, and respond to child sexual abuse. This free training requires 2 to 2.5 hours, and is generally offered for the public each month.

The training is appropriate for parents and other adults who want to know how to protect children from child sexual abuse. However, the training is also approved for continuing education credit for nurses, therapists, substance abuse professionals, child care workers, law enforcement staff, and others.

We encourage schools, clubs, churches, child care centers, agencies, hospitals, and other organizations to invite us to conduct Stewards of Children training at their locations on days or evenings that are convenient for them.
