Training
Mt. Olive CAC and TEDI BEAR CAC partner to welcome you to learn more about Children’s Advocacy Centers, and about how to prevent and address child abuse. Please consider participating in one of our Stewards of Children training sessions on the prevention of child sexual abuse.
Also, please consider taking one or more interactive online courses offered by other organizations on child abuse and neglect, and about the crime of child trafficking. Most of these courses are free of charge, and many can be used by professionals and foster parents for continuing education credit.
Stewards of Children Training
TEDI BEAR offers Stewards of Children, an evidence-informed, award-winning training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Through interviews with a very diverse group of people with lived experience, experts, and treatment providers, Stewards of Children teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, families, and communities. This training is free, open to any person 18 years or older, and is appropriate for parents, teachers, volunteers, and other adults who care for or work with children, such as medical professionals, therapists, childcare workers, law enforcement staff, and others.
Want to attend a Stewards of Children Training?
This free training requires 2.5 hours and is generally offered virtually for the public each month.
Want to host a Stewards of Children Training?
We encourage schools, clubs, churches, childcare centers, agencies, hospitals, and other organizations to invite us to conduct a Stewards of Children training at their locations on days or evenings that are convenient for them.
