Cardiology

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology team provides hands-on clinical training for medical students and residents and top-notch clinical care for children with cardiac conditions as well as adults with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Patients can access outpatient pediatric cardiology services through our primary clinic at East Carolina Heart Institute in Greenville, NC or one of nine outreach clinic sites throughout Eastern North Carolina.

In addition to teaching and clinical services, we are committed to community outreach. Each year, children age 7-17 years old with heart conditions are invited to attend Camp WholeHeart. Campers are provided with on-site specialty medical care and taught about health and nutrition in addition to normal camp activities. The camp offers a chance for children to learn more about their condition, participate in camp activities and interact with other children who share similar conditions.
