Cardiology – Education and Training
The division provides hands-on training and education to medical students, Pediatric and Med-Peds residents, and Adult Cardiology fellows, and high school students aspiring to study medicine. Students and residents are taught about Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease through patient interactions in the outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital services. A reading list about common Pediatric Cardiac diseases is provided and an open book examination is completed at the end of the session.
Didactic lectures are given to physician assistant students, medical students, Pediatric/Med-Peds residents, and Adult Cardiology Fellows. Continuing Medical Education (CME) lectures are provided to community Pediatricians/ED Physicians/Family Medicine physicians through Eastern AHEC. Electives in Pediatric Cardiology are provided to medical students from Brody School of Medicine as well as medical students from other medical schools.
